New SPDU unit now operating
Today we started our first commercial batch using the in-house designed, long awaited and recently delivered SPDU (short path distillation unit).
A short path distillation unit is special for plant extractions because it allows for the precise separation and purification of compounds in a plant extract. This process is particularly beneficial for plant extractions because it operates at lower temperatures compared to other distillation methods. This helps to preserve the delicate compounds in a plant’s composition.
The short path distillation unit uses a short distance between the evaporation surface and the condenser, minimizing the exposure of the compounds to high temperatures and reducing the risk of degradation. This results in a higher purity of the extracted compounds, making it ideal for extracting valuable components such as essential oils and other plant-based compounds. Additionally, the short path distillation process is very clean, sustainable and efficient.
