Christopher Bluemel
CGO & Co-Founder
Christopher worked 18 years at Bayer – for various chemical industries in different countries.
2006, he started his own company i-CHESS in Bombay, India.
Focus: Custom manufacturing of smaller commercial molecules.
After a very positive response, in 2019 he started a second company – x-TRACT – following the same business model, but strictly for natural, plant-based compounds.
Christopher has 36 + years experience in the industry.
He is responsible for growth, customer relations and interdisciplinary organisation building.

Sushmita Datta
CEO & Co-Founder
Sushmita joined i-CHESS as CEO in 2015 with over 13 years of dedicated experience in chemical industry. She held various positions across different business units within Bayer, Lanxess & Saltigo in India and Germany. Her last stint was as General Manager, BU – High Performance Polymers at Lanxess India.
Having worked in diverse positions encompassing basic chemicals, polymers & custom manufacturing, Sushmita has a comprehensive understanding of the complexities and nuances of the chemical industry. She has consistently demonstrated versatility and adaptability in navigating through different facets of the Industry.
She is academically equipped with Post Graduation in Commerce and Post Graduation in Business Administration. Her educational background combined with hands-on experience in diverse operational and strategic roles makes her the apt person to drive i-CHESS & x-TRACT.
